Dan Strauss Memorial Battle of Yorktown

This year was our 14th year participating in the now aptly named “Dan Strauss Memorial Battle of Yorktown“ as Yorktown Lions. There are a lot of fond memories over the years, including bringing our puppy, Olivia and our goddaughter Maxine to help participate.

After cleaning up our section, we drove around to thank some of the other participants. What a pleasant surprise to see the family of Dan Strauss participating in his honor this year.

The most impressive cleanup goes to BSA Troop 164 from the Yorktown Grange. It seemed like we could not drive through town without running into their huge group of kids and scout leaders filling up bags of garbage.

It was also great to see some members of the Knights of Columbus that we see every year cleaning up on Hanover Street. It is an event that truly brings the town together for a common cause. Thank you to all who participated!
