Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Paris Baguette, 3333 Crompond Road, Yorktown Heights.

Yorktown officials celebrated the grand opening of Paris Baguette Friday morning.

Town officials joined with the franchise owners to cut a ribbon for the international bakery café known for its expertly crafted French-inspired pastries, breads, and brewed drinks at 3333 Crompond Road.

During the ribbon-cutting, Paris Baguette CEO Darren Tipton said, “We are reestablishing the neighborhood bakery-café as the heart of the community throughout North America.”

The new Paris Baguette is in the BJ’s/Staples shopping center on Route 202.

“I’ve been in Europe many times because my daughter lives there, and this place is very European,” said Supervisor Ed Lachterman. “The cakes, the pastries, everything is light, airy and delicious. We’re happy that Yorktown is becoming the destination for businesses like Paris Baguette and for people who want to come into a great community because you bring jobs.”

The new Paris Baguette has about 50 employees with more hiring expected as the bakery becomes established in the community.

Founded in 1988, Paris Baguette has two other locations in Westchester County, in Hartsdale and Yonkers. The company has an active expansion planned in the United States aiming to reach 300 locations in the United States by the end of the year, and 1,000 locations by 2030.

Paris Baguette is the latest eatery to open in Yorktown this year. Other recent food-related openings include Ms. DimSum and Mr. Chick in May; Miraggio’s reopening in April; and Don Pablo Authentic Mexican Cuisine’s and El Macho Pizzeria & Pasta’s openings in March.
